The silent follower

Last week I pitched an executive I’d been “talking” to for 6 months – without knowing it!

He saw me speak at an event in Oslo last winter, and started following quietly. Never engaged. Never reached out.

Meanwhile, I nearly quit LinkedIn a dozen times. Client work took over, and with limited focus my own posts felt flat.

Or so I thought. Out of nowhere, I get a call from Denmark:

“Hey Johan! We haven’t met.

I saw you in Oslo and I’ve been following your stuff. You’ve convinced us.

We’re ready to prioritise our personal brands.”

Just because someone is quiet doesn’t mean they’re not listening.

Influence compounds in silence. Trust does its work off-stage.

Most buyers don’t perform for the algorithm.

They screenshot, forward, think, and act when the timing is right.

Keep showing up. Tell your stories.

The right people are listening – even when they never tap ❤️.

Have you had a “silent follower” moment of your own?
